Mama Kin (singer)
Mama Kin (bourgeois Danielle Caruana ; * approx. 1980 in Melbourne ) is an Australian singer-songwriter .

Mama Kin plays folk-heavy, mostly slower melodic songs and has performed among others. a. at the Woodford Folk Festival , the Bridgetown Blues Festival and the Byron Bay Bluesfest .
She was born the youngest of six siblings. Her family from Malta were musical and she learned to play the piano and started singing at the age of 5. As she got older, she became frustrated with her voice and didn't feel like doing the classical piano repertoire. But later she returned to an independent musical expression.
The stage name Mama Kin goes back to the Aerosmith song of the same name . She met the musician John Butler in Broome in 1999 and married him the same year. The two have a daughter named Banjo and a son named Jahli. Occasionally the couple perform together.
Mama Kin's brother is Nicky Bomba , who was the drummer for the John Butler Trio , her brother Michael plays keyboards .
