Mamadou Lamine Loum

Mamadou Lamine Loum (born February 3, 1952 in Mboss , Département Guinguinéo ) is a Senegalese politician . Known as a technocrat, Loum was Prime Minister of his country from July 3, 1998 to April 5, 2000.

Career

After his training, Loum worked in the Ministry of Finance from 1977, and in 1984 he became General Treasurer of Senegal. From 1991 to 1993 he was Director General of the Treasury. As a delegate to the finance minister, he was responsible for the state budget from June 1993. He became Minister of Finance in January 1998, before becoming Prime Minister and successor to Habib Thiam six months later .

After Abdoulaye Wade was elected President, he was replaced by Moustapha Niasse in April 2000 .
