Mammillaria roemeri is a species of the genus Mammillaria in the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Mammillaria roemeri grows individually or in branches with beet roots up to 10 centimeters laterally. The depressed, spherical shoots are only 1 to 2 centimeters high with a diameter of up to 3.5 centimeters. The warts, which are only 3 to 4 millimeters long, are soft fleshed. They are placed relatively densely, somewhat truncated, dark green to blue-green and without milky sap . Central spines are completely absent. The 25 to 32 radial spines radiate horizontally in a star shape. They stand in a row and are soft, very downy, glassy white and 1.5 to 2.3 millimeters long.

The wide open funnel-shaped flowers are whitish to cream-colored with a greenish throat. They are 1.2 to 1.5 inches long. The spherical green fruits , some of which are sunk into the plant body, are sparse. They each contain 4 to 14 black seeds .

Distribution and systematics

Mammillaria roemeri is common on limestone slabs in the Mexican state of Zacatecas . So far, finds are only known from the type location.
