Mammut is a wooden roller coaster in the Tripsdrill adventure park in Treffentrill . It was built from October 2007 to April 2008 and officially put into operation on April 28, 2008. To build the 30-meter-high and 860-meter-long Mammut wooden roller coaster, 7,000 cubic meters of earth were removed, 70,000 wooden parts, two million nails and one million screws were used. The Mammut roller coaster was designed by the Munich engineering firm Stengel ; the construction was carried out by Holzbau Cordes, who also developed a special type of rail for this train. The trains and the technology were supplied by Gerstlauer Amusement Rides . With this combination of manufacturers and the wood used from German forests, the park advertises that Mammut is the first completely German wooden roller coaster.
The runway is part of the new sawmill theme that will be created by 2010 , for which six million euros, including the roller coaster, are estimated. In keeping with the theme, the name refers to the sequoia trees and the elephant genus mammoths , as both, like the wooden roller coaster, are impressive because of their imposing size. The trains and the station are also kept in the sawmill theme.
