Altweibermühle

On June 30, 1929, Eugen Fischer, the owner of a restaurant in the hamlet of Treffentrill near Cleebronn, opened an old woman's mill that initially consisted of a small mill tower and a slide. The names Treffentrill and Tripsdrill are said to go back to the Roman captain Trepho, who called the place Trephonis Truilla. Allegedly, a stone labeled with it was found nearby. The name is also derived from the wild oats known as Trips and Trefz , which could once have been processed there by drilling . In addition, there is the place name Trudentrüll in old sayings for a place that does not exist. The name “Trulla” for the park is still common today.

Founder Eugen Fischer died in World War II, his son Kurt Fischer continued the business of the popular excursion destination. The first mill burned down in 1946 after being struck by lightning. Today's Altweibermühle was inaugurated in 1950, and August Lämmle gave the lecture .

Animal park

The zoo next to the Altweibermühle was opened in 1957 with 300 animals. In 1960 the first ride attraction in the form of pedal-operated locomotives was added. The Trillarium local history museum was established in 1962. The amusement park gradually grew beyond the hamlet. Opposite the Altweibermühle, the Altmännermühle was opened in 1970 .

The Wildparadies Tripsdrill was opened in 1972 and expanded to include a petting zoo in 1976 , increasing the population to over 1000 animals. The Vinarium wine museum was opened and since then it has housed one of the largest collections of wood spindle presses in Germany.

Since 1986, when the amusement park was expanded to 45 hectares, the two parks have been connected by a train on wheels (Stromberg Express) . In 1995 another 15 hectares were added to the park. Emanuel Mongon , a world-famous theme park planner , started working for Tripsdrill.

In 1996 Kurt Fischer handed the management over to his sons Helmut, Roland and Dieter Fischer. The park has been run as a GmbH & Co. KG ever since. In the same year the washing tub was opened.

roller coaster

In 1998 the roller coaster G'sengte Sau opened . Dirk Auer , an extreme inline skater, was the first person to ever ride on roller skates on the track. The Rauhe Klinge castle complex with a wild water course was inaugurated in 2000. In 2001 Auer repeated for a Wetten-dass ..? -Send the rollercoaster ride on the roller coaster with a beer glass in hand. Also in 2001 the wildlife park was expanded by 17 hectares. In 2002 the first Donnerbalken , a kind of free fall tower , was erected. The whole of 2004 was celebrated as the anniversary year of the company's 75th anniversary with many special events. A second thunder bar and the joyride opened in 2004. In 2005, the soapbox race opened two years late , completing the new Mühlental area . The village street with three houses and the maypole on the village square are the innovations of 2006.

The sawmill themed area has been ready in the park since 2010 . The Mammut roller coaster is the main feature in this themed area, which Tripsdrill cost around € 20 million. Mammut is almost 30 m high, up to 90 km / h and was opened on April 28, 2008. It was built by Ing.-Holzbau Cordes (wood construction), Gerstlauer Amusement Rides (technology and trains) and Ingenieurbüro Stengel (calculations). This makes it the first wooden roller coaster completely made in Germany.

Two more attractions were opened in the 2013 season. This is a Gaudi district consisting of seven half-timbered houses, which is home to all kinds of play options for children and young people. In addition, a catapult roller coaster will become the park's new major attraction. The Karacho track from the German manufacturer Gerstlauer with LSM finish and four inversions was opened in July 2013.

In July 2016, the “Karle Kolbenfresser” topic was completed with the opening of a new family attraction, the hot oven. This ride is a Mini Apollo from the Italian manufacturer Technical Park.

In 2020 two new roller coasters are to be built with the hanging roller coaster "Head Over Head" and the family roller coaster "Volldampf". This is the largest single investment in the park's history.

Trivia

The Tatort episode “The Scream” was filmed in autumn 2009 in the Tripsdrill adventure park. Among other things, the washtub rafting and the Mammut roller coaster can be seen, but additional attractions have also been set up. In the Tatort episode, Tripsdrill is called “Prisca Park” and, according to the script, is based in Ludwigshafen.

On May 23, 2010, the Tripsdrill adventure park received an entry in the Guinness Book of Records because the longest sock leash in the world had been erected there. With a length of 2324.08 meters and 27,868 individual socks, Tripsdrill was able to beat the old record (24,725 socks at 2013.75 meters). The socks came from park visitors who were asked to donate and received a small gift in return. The sock leash was displayed in the park over the Whitsun holidays.
