The Wildparadies Tripsdrill (former name Wildparadies Stromberg after the nearby Stromberg ) is a wildlife park in Treffentrill , Baden-Württemberg . It has existed since 1972 and is an independent institution that arose next to the Tripsdrill adventure park .
history
With 300 animals, including bears, monkeys, goats, sheep, zebras and ponies, a zoo was opened in 1957 as a forerunner of today's wildlife paradise next to the Altweibermühle.
investment
The predominantly forested area is 47 hectares . The wildlife park is laid out close to nature and offers numerous opportunities for playful environmental education. The circular routes are didactically prepared with quiz questions on biology. Commented feedings for selected animal species complement the extensive signage of the facility.
Livestock
Held about 50 species, some in outdoor enclosures , among others deer , Dybowskihirsche , mouflon , Ouessant sheep , wild boars , yaks , Heck cattle , barking deer , ferrets , dwarf goats , Donkey , tarpan , raccoons , red foxes , wolves , lynx , brown bears , polar wolves and various Birds of prey and owl species in a regular bird of prey show . It come this bald eagle , black vulture , griffon vulture , hawk vulture , turkey vulture , white-backed vulture , the crested caracara , a Red Kite , a black kite , a rough-legged buzzard and the Andean condor ago (August 2019).
The grandstand for the bird of prey show offers standing and seating for up to 1400 visitors as well as a good view over the falconry area.
Other bird species are presented in aviaries , such as the great gray owl , the saker falcon , the barn owl , the snow owl , the black stork , the kestrel , the eagle owl and the desert buzzard .
In 2018, the wilderness paradise was expanded to include an open space with the otters , which are threatened with extinction in Germany . A separate enclosure is also dedicated to the European wildcat .

Additional facilities include a forest adventure path, a barefoot path and an adventure playground, restaurants and barbecue areas.
On June 30, 2013, there was an accident during the daily public feeding of the bears and arctic wolves who share an enclosure. The brown bear Balu attacked and killed one of the polar wolves while it was being fed.
