Manarola is a district of Riomaggiore in the province of La Spezia ( Liguria , Italy ). It is one of the places of the Cinque Terre .
Manarola is possibly the oldest town in the Cinque Terre, as the foundation stone of the Church of San Lorenzo was laid in 1160.
The local dialect is Manarolese and differs from the dialects of the nearby towns. Traditionally, wine is made and fishing in Manarola. The local wine is called Sciacchetrà . Ancient Roman writings tell of this wine .
