The Manfred Rommel Square is a planned course in Stuttgart , who after former Mayor Manfred Rommel to be named. Originally it should have been called Straßburger Platz and should have reminded of the twinning between Stuttgart and Strasbourg . The city is now looking for another place for this purpose. The renaming was preceded by a discussion in Stuttgart's local politics. Mayor Fritz Kuhn personally explained the decision in Strasbourg.
