Manfred Aichinger

Manfred Aichinger (born September 24, 1960 in Vienna ) is an Austrian choreographer and dance teacher. He lives and works in Vienna.

Career

Aichinger studied pedagogy for modern dance at the Vienna Conservatory as well as philosophy , theater studies and German at the University of Vienna . In 1981 he founded the Homunculus dance theater , which he directed together with the Viennese choreographer Nikolaus Selimov for thirty years . In addition to his choreographic work at the Homunculus dance theater, Aichinger also works for well-known ballet and dance companies. Aichinger has been the curator of the Festival Österreichtanzt at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten since 2008 together with Nikolaus Selimov. From 1987 to 2004 he was the artistic director of Das Studio. Center for Modern Expressive Dance. Since 1990 he has been teaching music interpretation, improvisation, choreography and methodology / didactics at the Vienna Conservatory Private University . From 2004 to 2009 he taught at the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera .
