Manfred Engeli

Manfred Engeli (* 1937 ) is a Swiss psychologist , psychotherapist , marriage counselor , pastor and supervisor .

Life

Manfred Engeli studied languages ​​and history and worked as a teacher. He later studied psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Bern . He received his doctorate in psychology and then worked as a conversation, behavioral, family and couples therapist and as a supervisor. In 1982 he founded the Christian Counseling Center in Bern (today the Christian Therapy Center Siloah) and headed it until 2002. Since his retirement, Engeli has worked as an author, speaker and in the training of marriage counselors in the German, French and Italian-speaking regions and in Eastern Europe. For example, the head of the God helps foundation , Daniel Zindel, mentions his training at Engeli. In 2005 Engeli founded the LiSa Eheatelier association to strengthen the training of marriage counselors. His book Finale Marriage Care has been translated into Italian, French and English. Engeli is married and lived in Kehrsatz and now in Gerzensee near Bern .

Teaching

Engeli's main concern is healthy marriages . He understands marriage as a covenant between God , man and woman, in which God can also act actively. This can bring relief for both man and woman, because then love no longer has to be performed. A couple must decide on such a binding form of marriage so that love can flow between all three partners. Loyalty and commitment keep this system intact. Flexibility is another important skill to get involved in a partner desire that you don't want at first and that still turns into a profit. This leads to more love, growth, strength and inner freedom. The churches should offer more training in such an understanding of marriage.
