Manfred Hülsken-Giesler

Manfred Hülsken-Giesler (* 1966 in Beckum ) is a German nursing scientist .

Life

Manfred Hülsken-Giesler completed an apprenticeship as a health and nurse (former job title) in Recklinghausen between 1987 and 1990 . From 1996 to 2001 he studied nursing science as well as education and social science at the University of Bremen. In 2007 the doctorate at the University of Osnabrück followed. Manfred Hülsken-Giesler was a member of the board of the German Society for Nursing Science (DGP) from 2014 to 2018 and a founding member and spokesman for the DGP working group on the development and consequences of technology and IT in nursing for many years . He was appointed to the chair for “community-based care” at PTH Vallendar , established in 2013, as the first chair holder in the 2013/2014 winter semester. In 2018, Manfred Hülsken-Giesler-Giesler became dean of the nursing faculty at PTH Vallendar. In January 2019, Manfred Hülsken-Giesler moved from the PTH Vallendar to the Chair of Nursing Science at the University of Osnabrück.

His main research interests are new technologies in health and care, futurology in care and health, university education in health and care, and basic theoretical work.
