Manfred Haase

Manfred Haase (born July 19, 1935 ) was a soccer player at SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt, the forerunner of Chemnitzer FC . For SC Motor he played two seasons in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association .

Athletic career

At the age of 21, Haase made his debut in the GDR league with SC Motor Karl-Marx-Stadt. In the encounter on the 18th match day of the 1956 season SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt / Aue - SC Motor (2-0) on September 9, he was substituted on in the 75th minute for left winger Joachim Speck . After another substitution on the 22nd game day, he was used in the last three season point games from the start as a right midfielder. In the league season 1957 Haase established himself as a regular player, he played 23 of the 26 played point games and was mainly used as a left defender. At the end of the season, SC Motor had been relegated to the I. GDR League . In the second division season in 1958, Haase injured himself so badly after ten point games that he was out for the rest of the season. The SC engine was passed through in the first GDR league and was relegated again within a year to the second GDR league . Ready for action again, Haase fought back to his regular position as a left defender in 1959 and played a key role in helping SC Motor gain immediate promotion to the first GDR league. Although only 25 years old, Haase no longer played a role in the regular team of SC Motor in the 1960 season. He was only used four times in the league games of the first GDR league, of which he was only a substitute in two matches. On the 1st day of the 1961/62 season he played his last competitive game for the Karl-Marx-Städter. From 1956 to 1961 he had come to about 70 missions, including 28 league games in which he scored two goals.
