Manfred Herzer (born March 6, 1949 in Berlin ) is a German author , editor and historical researcher .

Life

As a student of sociology at the Free University of Berlin , Herzer was a founding member of the homosexual campaign West Berlin . After graduating, he became a librarian in Berlin.

Under the pseudonym "Mimi Steglitz", Herzer was one of the main opponents in the so-called queer dispute . He was one of the initiators for founding the Magnus Hirschfeld Society . He was also a founding member of the Schwules Museum * . There he edited Capri - magazine for gay history from 1987 to 2019 .

He was honored with a Festschrift Caprices in 2014.
