Manfred Hildebrandt (born September 3, 1953 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The midfielder Manfred Hildebrandt started his career at Arminia Bielefeld . In 1972 he joined the squad of the first team that had just been relegated from the Bundesliga . Hildebrandt played twelve regional league games for Arminia and qualified with his team in 1974 for the newly created 2nd Bundesliga . However, he left Bielefeld at the end of the season with an unknown destination.

In the summer of 1975 he joined the Westphalian league club SC Herford , with whom he first became Westphalian champion and then rose to the 2nd Bundesliga. On September 4, 1976, he made his second division debut in the Herford 2-3 defeat at Wacker 04 Berlin . This was followed by another second division appearance at 2-2 in the Ostwestfalenderby against Arminia Bielefeld. Hildebrandt left Herford at the end of the season and continued to play at DJK Gütersloh .
