Manfred III. (Saluzzo)

Manfred III. del Vasto († 1244 ) was Margrave of Saluzzo from 1215 to 1244. Manfred was the son of Boniface of Saluzzo and Maria di Torres of Sassari. Since his father died in 1212, he succeeded his grandfather Manfred II as the third Margrave of Saluzzo in 1215 . He spent his first three years as a margrave under his mother's reign. He oriented his policy to secure his borders against the expansionist efforts of Count Thomas I of Savoy .

He married Beatrice of Savoy († May 10th before 1258), a daughter of Count Amadeus IV , who married the Hohenstaufen Manfred , later King of Sicily , in their second marriage in late 1248 or early 1249 .

He was followed by his son Thomas I.
