Manfred Lackner (born September 29, 1946 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a former member of the National Council .

education and profession

Manfred Lackner attended elementary and secondary school from 1952 to 1960 and graduated from commercial school from 1960 to 1962. He did his military service in 1966 and studied political education from 1992 to 1994 at the University of Salzburg .

Lackner worked from 1962 to 1968 as an employee of the district administration St. Veit an der Glan and worked between 1968 and 1971 as the local secretary of Rangersdorf . From 1971 to 1974 Lackner was a customs officer and then until 1978 employed by the city of Burscheid . Lackner was also Ludesch's municipal employee in 1979 and head of the finance department of the Bludenz Hospital from 1979 .

politics

Lackner was city representative of Bludenz from 1990 and was elected district party chairman of the SPÖ Bludenz in 1991. He was also Deputy State Party Chairman between 1995 and 1999, State Party Chairman between 1999 and 2003, and after 2003 again Deputy State Party Chairman of the SPÖ Vorarlberg . From 1986 he was a member of the regional management of the Vorarlberg community workers' union.

Lackner represented the SPÖ in the National Council between January 15, 1996 and October 29, 2006. He has been the head of the Social and Health Committee of the Pensioners' Association since 2007 and was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Healthy Austria Fund on September 18, 2007. He has been President of the Vorarlberg Pensioners' Association since October 4, 2019. He took over this task from the longtime and now honorary president, Erich de Gaspari.
