Manfred Layer

Manfred Layer (* 1937 ) is a German economist and emeritus professor of business administration (BWL). He was managing director of the organization and industrial accounting department at the Institute for Industrial Management and Organization (IIO) at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg .

Life

Manfred Layer received his doctorate in 1967 from the Technical University of Karlsruhe . His dissertation was entitled "Possibilities and limits of the applicability of the contribution margin accounting in the accounting of the company" .

In 1973 he completed his habilitation with the thesis "Sequential Production and Investment Planning with the Help of Dynamic Programming" at the University of Karlsruhe .

Until his retirement he taught and researched as managing director of the organization and industrial accounting department at the Institute for Industrial Management and Organization (IIO) at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Hamburg .

In 2002 published Frank Keuper as publisher a commemorative publication on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Manfred Layer entitled "Production and Controlling" .

Research priorities

Manfred Layer's research area included in particular industrial accounting.
