Manfred Matyschik (born November 21, 1940 ) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga . In the top division of GDR football , he was active for FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and BSG Sachsenring Zwickau . With FC Karl-Marx-Stadt, he was GDR champion in 1967.

In the men's soccer division, Matyschik began playing for the company sports association (BSG) activist Karl Marx in Zwickau in western Saxony from 1958 . In 1962 he rose with the BSG from the 2nd GDR League to the second-rate 1st GDR League . When he was successful in the 1964/65 season with twelve championship goals, the upper division and neighboring football focus FC Karl-Marx-Stadt (FCK) noticed the 24-year-old striker and brought him into his team.

Matyschik could not assert himself in the GDR elite league. In his first league season 1965/66 he was only used on the 24th match day when he was called up on May 4, 1966 in the encounter Chemie Leipzig - FCK (1-0) as a half-left striker. 1966/67 he played six league games in different attacking positions without scoring a goal. So he had only a small share in winning the GDR championship by the FCK. After GDR football in the 1967/68 season could be substituted on and off, Matyschik came on the 14th and 15th matchday two short-term assignments as a substitute. The game of the 15th match day between FCK and 1. FC Lok Leipzig (0: 1) on March 2, 1968 was Matyschik's last competitive game in the Karl-Marx-Städter league team. Within three seasons he had only made ten missions, including a cup game in 1966. Although each used as a striker, he scored no goals.

In the seasons 1968/69 and 1969/70 Matyschik played for the upper division BSG Sachsenring Zwickau. There, too, he did not make it to become a regular player. In each season he was used in seven league games as a striker, but only played five games over the full game. He scored one goal every season. At the end of the 1969/70 season, in which he had only played in the first half of the season, Matyschik ended his career as a competitive athlete at the age of 29.
