Manfred Miethe
Manfred Miethe (born November 23, 1950 in Hamburg ) is a Swiss - German writer and translator .
Life
After a commercial apprenticeship and a discontinued study of social education , Miethe left Hamburg and moved to the USA in 1979 , where he stayed until 1991. There he worked as a cook, baker, masseur, German teacher, carpet and shoe seller as well as a martial arts teacher and poster sticker. In 1991 he returned to Germany and initially took over the editor-in-chief of Connection magazine , and later the editing of Integral Verlag.
He has been working as a freelance writer and translator since 1993. To date, he has translated more than 160 books from English into German (including works by Jiddu Krishnamurti , Dan Millman , Louise Hay , Virginia Satir , John Perkins , Michael Murphy , Scott Cunningham , Chuck Spezzano, Diana Cooper, Elizabeth Clare Prophet , Terry Jones and The Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz ). He has also written 28 books, five of them as a ghostwriter .
Since 2011 he has mainly published his books in electronic form.
Miethe has lived in Switzerland since 1997 ; when he became a Swiss citizen in 2011, he became a Swiss-German citizen.
After a deep personal crisis and a drastic experience, Miethe withdrew completely from the public at the end of 2015.
