Until 1980 there were other record shops in Hildesheim, Hameln, Marburg, Münster, Braunschweig, Gifhorn etc. under his leadership. The double burden of retail and sales and the work for the own label led to the founding of SPV GmbH on January 1st, 1984 . Within 10 years, the developed into one of the largest independent companies in the music industry in Europe. It became the distribution for Roadrunner Records , Nuclear Blast , AGR, Noise Records , Play It Again Sam (label) or Century Media and was home to many of their own and licensed publications on the Steamhammer, Synthetic Synphony and Rebel Records labels. SPV was the leading European heavy metal distributor for 25 years. In Manfred Schütz's 25 years of management, artists such as Fury in the Slaughterhouse , Motörhead , Alice Cooper , Whitesnake and Simply Red were among the artists who published worldwide via SPV GmbH .

Manfred Schütz has been building the company Made in Germany Music since 2010. MIG acts as an independent label in many musical areas. The focus is on historical recordings, the Rockpalast series in cooperation with the WDR Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln and the development of new artists.
