Manfred Wille

Manfred Wille (born March 6, 1934 in Magdeburg ; † December 12, 2014 ) was a German historian .

Life

After completing his studies and completing his doctorate, Manfred Wille worked at the Magdeburg University of Education . Together with the State Archives Director Rudolf Engelhart, he researched and published in 1974 on sources on the history of the workers' movement in the Magdeburg district for the period 1945–1949. He received the professorship for German contemporary history at the University of Education. In this function he dealt with the subject of resettlement in the Soviet occupation zone and in the GDR, with the air raids on Magdeburg and published several publications about it. In 1993, the University of Education was merged into Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg . In 1999 Wille retired.

Manfred Wille worked a. a. also contributed to the Biographical Lexicon for Magdeburg and published several works on the history of Magdeburg.
