Manganates
Manganates or Manganate (VI) are chemical compounds of manganese . These are salts with the doubly negatively charged MnO 4 2− anion, which are derived from manganic acid (H 2 MnO 4 ) , which is inconsistent in free form . The manganate ions are only stable and paramagnetic in a strongly basic solution . Solutions with manganate ions appear green.
The technical production takes place among other things from manganese dioxide (MnO 2 ) in strongly alkaline with air supply (from oxidation level IV to VI):
