Mani Sundu

Mani Sundu (* 1902 in Kamadu ; † July 2, 1984 ) was a Sierra Leonean chief of the Kono in Sierra Leone, West Africa .

Sundu made his mark as a businessman, philanthropist and farmer . His economic rise from a kitchen helper to the richest man in the district made for a high reputation. He was known among the Kono as an outstanding trader .

Sundu's grave has been a Sierra Leone National Monument since January 19, 2018 . The tomb is the first national monument to a person born in the 20th century.
