The list of team squads of the Elitserien (chess) 1987/88 contains all players who played at least one game in the Swedish Elitserien in chess 1987/88 .
The 8 clubs used between 10 and 13 players. A total of 88 players were used, 35 of whom competed in all competitions. With the Icelandic Arnthor Einarsson and Julius Fridjonsson (both Malmö SS), the Englishman Simon Webb , the Welsh Emmanuel Rayner (both Wasa SK) and the Peruvian Victor Vilchez (SK Rockaden Stockholm) a total of five foreigners were used.
The best player in points was Ferdinand Hellers (Wasa SK) with 5.5 points from 7 games, Carl-Magnus Björk (SK Rockaden Stockholm), Thorbjörn Glimbrandt and Ingemar Svensk (both Upsala ASS) achieved half a point less. With Karl Johan Moberg (SS Manhem), Lars-Inge Hedlund and Erik Lundin , three players scored 100%, but they only played a few games. Moberg and Hedlund were each used twice, Lundin once.
The oldest player of the season was Erik Lundin (1904-1988), who played for Wasa SK, and the youngest player was Peter Laveryd (Schack 08 Norrköping) and Magnus Eriksson (Limhamns SK), born in 1970.
