Rikard Winsnes

Rikard Lars Winsnes (born July 11, 1968 ) is a Swedish chess player .

In 1983 Rikard Winsnes won the Manhem Open in Gothenburg ahead of Ferdinand Hellers and Slavko Cicak . He won the Swedish U20 championship in Uppsala in 1985. At the Göteborg Open 2003 he shared the victory with Björn Ahlander .

He plays club chess for the SS Manhem from Gothenburg, with whom he played for years in the Elitserien , the highest league of the Swedish team championship ( Allsvenskan ). In 2003 he moved to Skara SS for a short time , but returned to Manhem for the 2006/07 season . At the top board of Manhem he took part in the 1995 European Club Cup in Ljubljana .

He had reached the required number of standards for the title of International Master in 1990, but he had to wait several years for the award, as he had only reached the required Elo rating of 2400 in July 1993 . Its Elo rating is 2372 (as of December 2019), its highest to date was 2409 from May 2011 to April 2012.
