Manuel Peimbert
Manuel Peimbert (also Manuel Peimbert Sierra ) (born June 9, 1941 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican physicist and astronomer .
Peimbert received a BA in Physics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1962 and a PhD in Astronomy from the University of California in 1967 . He has been a professor at UNAM since 1968. His main research interests deal with physical properties in gas nebulae, especially the chemical composition of H II regions.

- 2012 Hans A. Bethe Prize for work on the cosmological abundance of helium and the abundance of other elements and the implications for the cosmology and chemical evolution of galaxies and stars (laudation)
