Manuel Rösler (born June 12, 1972 in Aachen ; grew up in Merzenich and Jülich ) is a contemporary German composer and musician.

biography

Manuel Rösler studied at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf and was already a member of various early music ensembles, such as the Rheinische Kantorei, the Stuttgart Chamber Choir and the Amsterdam Baroque Choir . In 2005, following a project at the Konzerthaus Berlin, he founded the Berlin Children's Opera , which he still directs today. From 2006 to 2008 he headed the music theater department with children and young people at the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin . From 2008 to 2010, in addition to his freelance composition work, he worked as a lecturer for song interpretation at the Theater Academy Vorpommern and as a drama musician at the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne Anklam . In 2010 he was appointed cantor of the Zionskirche in Berlin .

A focus of his work is in the field of film, theater and radio plays. He composed the music for over seventy radio plays, several singing games and plays, as well as TV and cinema films. Another area of ​​his work is vocal music. In addition to his work as a composer, he also publishes vocal music from the 18th and 19th centuries. He has been an author for the specialist journals PianoNews and Ensemble - Magazin für Kammermusik since 1997.
