The Vorpommern Theater Academy in Zinnowitz on the island of Usedom is the drama school of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne Anklam . It was founded in 2000 and has been officially recognized as a higher vocational school for theater work since 2005 .

The professional training to become a state-recognized actor is based on the theater methods of Konstantin Stanislawski , Bertolt Brecht and Lee Strasberg and lasts four years. There are three rehearsal stages, a movement and ballet hall , two speech training rooms and two music rooms, a seminar room and a library available for training. The study-oriented productions are performed publicly. The venues are the Anklam Theater , the “Blechbüchse Zinnowitz”, the “Barther Boddenbühne” in Barth , the Vineta Festival in Zinnowitz , the Schlossinsel in Wolgast and the “Chapeau Rouge” in Heringsdorf .

In addition to the academy's in-house productions, which are studio productions during the course or final productions, the theater practice orientation provides for the early involvement of trainees in the productions of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne Anklam. Since 2005 there has also been a cooperation agreement with the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin . In the fourth year of practical training, the graduates are integrated into the acting ensemble of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne. In addition to scene studies, the students are taught speech training, voice training, song interpretation, choir, movement, fencing, acrobatics, music theory and theater studies. You will also have the opportunity to try out and develop in other areas during your training. This includes, among other things, the development of a puppet show, work in the recording studio of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne, camera training and seminars in dramaturgy and film history. During the summer season, the theater academy students are involved in the summer productions of the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne, which include the Vineta Festival, the Barther Theatergarten and the Schlossinsel Festival.

The trainees at this private institution do not pay school fees, but receive training allowances.

The school has been managed by Wolfgang Bordel since 2019 , while Oliver Trautwein has been responsible for acting training since the 2019/2020 season, as the successor to Swentja Krumscheidt.
