Manuel Salz (born August 6, 1985 in Boeblingen ) is a German football goalkeeper .

Career

Salt plays in the position of goalkeeper . Before he was appointed to the regional league squad of the traditional Stuttgart club in 2003, Salz played in the major league with the Stuttgarter Kickers II . Other stations in his career are VfR Pforzheim and SV Hohenwart, which was also his youth club.

So far, Manuel Salz has only been used in the Oberliga team, which changed for the 2008/09 season of the 3rd division.

In the first game of the Stuttgarter Kickers on July 26, 2008 in Burghausen (0: 2), Salz made his debut as the new number one. He replaced the former Kickers goalkeeper David Yelldell who had switched to TuS Koblenz . For the 2009/10 season, Salz moved to the newly promoted Bundesliga club SC Freiburg , where he made his Bundesliga debut on the first match day at home against Hamburger SV. On December 21, 2011 he was advised to look for a new club, as one was planning without him. Since then he has only been part of the reserve squad in the Regionalliga Süd . Since no new contract offer was made at SC Freiburg after the contract expired in summer 2012 and he could not find a new club, he was initially without a club.

At the end of January 2013, the third division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt committed salt and provided it with a contract until the end of the 2012/13 season with the option of a further year. However, he remained without use and left the club in the summer of the same year. Meanwhile he plays for the 1st CfR Pforzheim in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

Style of play

Salt is said to impress with good reflexes, football skills and the way he conducts his colleagues. He is also known as a "penalty killer".
