Manuel Traninger (born September 29, 1998 ) is an Austrian ski racer . His greatest success so far is three medals at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games and winning the bronze medal in the downhill at the 2019 Junior World Championships .

biography

Traninger comes from Niederöblarn , but joined the Gröbming Ski Club at the age of seven. At the beginning of 2015 he took part in FIS races for the first time and a year later also in those of the European Cup . He achieved his greatest successes to date at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer . There he won a complete set of medals and became a youth Olympic champion in slalom. For the 2018/19 season he was also able to classify himself in the top 10 in the European Cup for the first time, including once on the podium. At the following Junior World Championships , he won the bronze medal in the downhill and was 4th in the Super-G just barely past the podium.

Traninger actively plays football at FSV Union Raiffeisen Öblarn .
