Niederöblarn is a former municipality with 600 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the judicial district of Liezen and Liezen in Styria . Since January 1, 2015, it has been merged with the market town of Öblarn as part of the Styrian community structure reform, the new community continues the name "Öblarn".
With effect from January 1, 2015, the judicial districts have been redefined in the “District Courts Ordinance Styria 2015” due to the changes in the framework of the structural reform of the municipalities in Styria .
Therefore, the municipality has been in the Schladming judicial district since 2015 .

The community consisted of the cadastral community Niederöblarn.
history
The lordship was abolished in 1848. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. Niederöblarn was hit by a devastating flood in 1920 . After the German annexation of Austria in 1938, the community became part of the Reichsgau Steiermark , from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.
politics
Mayor was Walter Greimeister ( ÖVP ) until the end of 2014 .
After the 2010 elections, the municipal council was composed as follows: 7 ÖVP , 2 SPÖ

Economy and Infrastructure
Niederöblarn is the seat and production facility of Schachnerhaus GmbH., A company specializing in prefabricated houses and log houses with over 60 employees.
The Niederöblarn airfield , which had to relocate here from the Aigen military airfield in the Ennstal in the 1970s, is of regional importance . It is specially designed for gliding and a flight school is attached. A special attraction for the glider pilots is the huge mountain of the Grimming , which stands directly to the north and rises almost 2000 m above the flat valley floor . In addition, here is ÖAMTC - rescue helicopter Christophorus 14 Ennstal and for the space Unfallkrankenhaus Kalwang stationed.
