geography

Aigen im Ennstal is located in the Styrian Ennstal on the right (south of the Enns), about 10 km southwest of Liezen , directly opposite the confluence of the Hinterbergtal (from Ausseerland) into the Ennstal. The Grimming rises dominantly to the northwest , behind it on the left the southern flank of the Dachstein massif . The Dead Mountains stretch to the northeast , and the Gesäuse Mountains in the distance .

To the south the mountains belong to the Rottenmanner Tauern . The Aigner municipality is the entrance to the Gulling valley , extends in the north to the Enns (with a small parcel even on the other side of the Enns ), and in the south includes the lower Gulling and then the mountains to the left of the valley - the Gullingtal itself belongs to Rottenmann .

In the municipal area, the Kulm  ( 918  m above sea level ), an island mountain of the Ennstal, lies dominantly to the west (towards the valley) , and behind it the Putterersee .
