history

On May 3, 1992 the branch church was consecrated by Bishop Johann Weber . As part of a project to renew the village of Lebendiges Zentrum Aigen with the architects Erwin Egger and Gerhard Kreiner, a new town center was built by 2007 around a newly designed village square next to the church.
architecture
The church building has a bulging, green roof made of wood, which is drained via the eaves into a stream flowing past, which borders the building. The edge of the roof is made up of sheet steel cassettes, which form the static connection between the wooden beams and the load-bearing steel supports. The pastoral house built on as a steel structure has a facade made of larch wood and glass. The steel structure of the free-standing church tower is clad with glass and has the plan of a warped square. The tower is 32 m high, has a wider base and closes with a bell room at the top. The artistic glass design was created by the artist Fritz Panzer from Graz.
Furnishing
The lecture cross next to the altar of figural Jesus crucified on a cross made of metal tubes with a colored circular ring made of enamel was created by the Seckau Benedictine monk , lay brother and blacksmith Bernward Schmid OSB .
