Landl is a municipality with 2685 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the north of Styria in the judicial district or district of Liezen .
geography
The villages are in the Landltal , in the area where the Salza flows into the Enns , at the foot of the Hochschwab group in the east and the Ennstaler and Eisenerzer Alps , parts of the municipality in the north are also in the Ybbstal Alps : the three mountain groups meet at Großreifling .
Community structure
As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , it has been merged with the municipalities of Gams bei Hieflau , Palfau and the municipality of Hieflau (in the Leoben district ) since 2015 ; the new municipality continues to use the name Landl. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act (StGsrG).
The boundaries of the districts of Liezen and Leoben have been changed so that the new municipality lies entirely in the district of Liezen.
The community consists of the six cadastral communities Gams , Hieflau , Jassingau, Krippau, Landl and Palfau . The municipality includes the following nine localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to agricultural businesses and some commercial enterprises, tourism is also an important source of income for the villages in Landl. Various activities such as hikes, bike tours, mountaineering or rafting on the Enns and Salza attract guests and thus generate sales in the catering and accommodation businesses.
Together with Altenmarkt near St. Gallen, Ardning, Admont and St. Gallen, the municipality forms the “Alpenregion Nationalpark Gesäuse ” tourist association based in Admont.
traffic
The Großreifling and Landl service stations as well as the Hieflau station, which is still served by a pair of trains on the weekend, are located on the Rudolfsbahn , at the latter the Erzbergbahn ends .
