Hieflau is part of the Styrian municipality of Landl ( Liezen district ) and until the end of 2014 was a separate municipality with 730 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2014) in the Leoben district . As part of the municipal structural reform in Styria , it has been merged with the former Palfau and Gams bei Hieflau as part of the Landl municipality since 2015 . The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act (StGsrG). The boundaries of the Liezen and Leoben districts were changed so that Hieflau is now also in the Liezen district.
