Christian Salfellner (born October 16, 1965 in Aigen im Ennstal , Austria) is an Austrian modern jazz drummer .

Live and act

Salfellner studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and at the Berklee College of Music . He then worked in the trio of Fritz Pauer and Heinrich von Kalnein . He also played in groups such as Nouvelle Cuisine , Clan Music Overdrive , the Vienna Art Orchestra or in the long run , but also with Johannes Enders and Henning Sieverts or Georg Breinschmid ; he directed the “Concert Jazz Orchestra Vienna”. With Martin Koller he recorded the record "Quasar". From 1986 to 1989 he also appeared in Fritz Novotny's ReformART formations.

In 2003 Salfellner was awarded the Hans Koller Prize as " Sideman of the Year 2003".
