Manuela Schmidt (born July 13, 1963 in Großenhain ) is a German politician ( PDS , Die Linke ). She is Vice President of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

Manuela Schmidt studied pedagogy at the Humboldt University in Berlin from 1982 to 1987 and completed her studies as a qualified teacher . From 1987 to 1990 she continued her studies and was awarded a Dr. paed. PhD. In 1991, after completing her studies, she worked as a staff member at the Humboldt University in Berlin, and from 1992 to 1993 as personal advisor to the President of the Humboldt University Marlis Dürkop-Leptihn . After training to become an education and personnel officer from 1994 to 1995, she worked from 1995 to 2001 as a project manager at Mittendrin in Hellersdorf Association for the Integration of Disabled People . Schmidt is married and has one child.

politics

Manuela Schmidt has been a member of the PDS or Die Linke party since 2002. From 2001 to 2004 she was district councilor for youth, family and health in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district and from 2005 to 2011 district councilor for youth and family there.

On September 18, 2011 she was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2011 as a candidate in the constituency of Marzahn-Hellersdorf 2 and entered the Berlin House of Representatives . In the election for the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , she again won the Marzahn-Hellersdorf 2 constituency as a direct candidate. She is a member of the main committee and spokesperson for the districts.

In October 2012 she was elected to the state executive committee of the Berlin Left.
