Maor Melikson (born October 30, 1984 in Jawne , Israel ) is an Israeli football player of Polish descent who is under contract with Hapoel Be'er Sheva .

Club career

Melikson was born in Jawne , Israel . His mother comes from Poland and emigrated to Israel . As a result, Melikson also has Polish citizenship .

Melikson began his professional career at the age of 18 at Beitar Jerusalem , where he played from 2002 to 2006, scoring eight goals in 111 games. In 2006 he moved to league rivals Maccabi Haifa and played here for two seasons before moving to Hapoel Kfar Saba in 2008 . In one season in Kfar Saba he only played 15 games. For the 2008/09 season he then signed with Hapoel Be'er Scheva . Here he played three seasons, was team captain and became a national player. Looking for a new challenge, he signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Wisła Kraków in early 2011 .

In January 2013 Melikson moved to the French first division club Valenciennes FC , where he signed a contract until the end of June 2015. The transfer fee was the equivalent of a little more than 900,000 euros .

National team

In the Israeli national team , he made his debut on May 26, 2010 in a friendly against Uruguay .
