The Mapple Glacier is a 24 km long and narrow glacier on the Oscar II coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows east into the south arm of Exasperation Inlet , which it reaches west-southwest of Delusion Point . A small mountain range, to which Mount Ahab belongs, separates it from the Melville Glacier , which lies 3 km to the south .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a geodetic survey in 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after Father Mapple , the preacher in Herman Melville's 1851 novel Moby-Dick .
