María Quintanal Zubizarreta (born December 17, 1969 in Bilbao ) is a Spanish - Dominican marksman .
successes
María Quintanal took part in two Olympic Games : in 1996 she finished eleventh in double trap. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she reached 13th place in double trap , while she qualified for the final with 65 points in trap . In this she scored 19 more hits and reached with a total of 84 hits the second place behind Suzanne Balogh , which she received the silver medal. At world championships she first won silver with the team in the trap in 1989 in Montecatini Terme . She repeated this success in Lahti in 2002. The following year she took bronze with the trap team in Nicosia and was world champion in the double trap in the singles. Another bronze medal followed in 2014 with the trap team.
Quintanal also has Dominican citizenship and, after disagreements with the Spanish federation, temporarily competed under the Dominican flag.
