The Marbacher Zeitung (MZ) is a German daily newspaper published in Marbach am Neckar . Its distribution area extends over the entire Bottwartal as well as parts of the Neckar and Murrtal, it is the official announcement sheet for the district of Ludwigsburg and the city of Marbach am Neckar. The headquarters of the editorial office and the publishing house are at König-Wilhelm-Platz in Marbach. Karin Götz is the local editor.

history

The forerunner of the Marbacher Zeitung was the Oberamtsblatt der Schillerstadt, the Postillon , which had been published three times a week since August 18, 1845 . Its publisher changed five times in the first few decades until Adolf Remppis acquired the publisher in 1891. His great-grandchildren Kai and Uwe Keller are still active in the company today.

Since January 2, 1925, the newspaper has been called the Marbacher Zeitung . In the same year it was changed to a daily publication. In 1926 the management passed to Hermann Remppis. Shortly after the National Socialists came to power in 1933, the newspaper had to join the Nazi press and cease publication in 1941. The Adolf Remppis printing company was allowed to resume operations in 1947, but it wasn't until 1949 that the Marbacher Zeitung was able to reach its readers again every day. At that time, the local newspaper got its coat from the Zentralredaktion Süddeutscher Heimatzeitungen. After its dissolution, the Marbacher Zeitung switched to the Südwestdeutscher Zeitungsverband as a shell partner, which four years later joined forces with the Südwestpresse Ulm. In 1973, under the management of Helmut Keller, the Marbacher Zeitung switched from the Berlin to the Rhenish format . It was printed by the Stuttgarter Nachrichten , where the coat has been purchased ever since. The publishing house joined the Stuttgart newspaper advertising community in 1976. Since then he has had printing done in the Waiblingen printing house. In 1999 the company moved into the newly built company building at König-Wilhelm-Platz 2. With the economic connection to the partner Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the management passed to Kai Keller in April 2003.

Since January 2004 the Marbacher Zeitung has been printed in Pressehaus Druck, the largest newspaper printing company in southern Germany. The Marbacher Zeitung has appeared as a local edition of the Stuttgarter Nachrichten since 2005. The local section Marbach & Bottwartal is also included with the Stuttgarter Zeitung .
