The Marburg Concert Choir deals with so-called serious music .

During the university's lecture times, he intensively studies important works of musical literature from all epochs from the late Middle Ages to the modern era under the direction of Siegfried Heinrich , mostly in concerts in Marburg, in other cities (especially in Hesse) and on tours abroad perform.

The Community Choir includes singers and singers from several generations who are active in their daily lives in various professions or were, as in particular young people in training, particularly students. They all share the common joy of choral music in demanding performance and the willingness to attend rehearsals on a regular basis.

Focus of the choir work

The main focus of the choir's work in the large tutti choir is the rehearsals and own performances of large oratorios in cooperation with major European orchestras (e.g. Virtuosi Brunensis, Sinfonia Silesia Kattowitz, Bachorchester Frankfurt / Main), often with vocal and instrumental soloists active throughout Europe .

As a rule, three oratorios are offered annually in Marburg, which are always performed in well-known locations in other cities.

The chamber choir of the Marburg Concert Choir also sings a cappella works, or it often makes music together with small instrumental groups. Every year choir members get the chance to participate in the opera choir in the Romanesque monastery ruins as part of the "Opera in the Bad Hersfeld Abbey Ruins" (two to three weeks in August, rehearsals from the end of July).

Media work

Radio and television recordings or live broadcasts from German and foreign stations were broadcast from some of the choir performances. Records, CDs and video cassettes were also produced.

Guest concert events

In Marburg, the Marburger Konzertchor eV also organizes guest concerts (e.g. with symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, vocal and instrumental groups and well-known organists). These concerts also often take place under the baton of Siegfried Heinrichs.
