The two-axle steam locomotive Marburger Kreisbahn 3 was a former Prussian T2 and was used on the Kreisbahn from 1906 to 1910. Compared to the original version, the machine had an enlarged wheel diameter.

The tank locomotive was sold to a private company in 1910; the further fate of the locomotive cannot be traced.

history

According to documents from the Royal Prussian Railway Administration, the locomotive is said to have been called Cassel T 1 in 1926 and is to be named after the Royal Prussian Railway Administration . Central Railway Office in Cassel T 2 6033 have been renamed.

Since only two steam locomotives were used on the Marburger Kreisbahn around 1906 , the railway administration looked for an inexpensive alternative to avoid bottlenecks. The locomotive was bought by the KPEV through an intermediary and arrived at the Kreisbahn on April 24, 1906. Their friction weight was not enough to move heavy trains on the route to Dreihausen . The locomotive was only able to transport passenger trains consisting of two cars to Dreihausen on time. In 1910 the locomotive was sold to a private company in Braunschweig . It was used there in the construction train service. After that, their track is lost.

technology

The locomotive had an inner frame and, compared to the original version of the T 2, an enlarged wheel diameter of 1,524 mm. Presumably the water tank was stored between the frame cheeks. The side boxes were used as charcoal boxes. In addition to the steam dome, the sand dome and the Ramsbotton type safety valve , it also had a steam flare mechanism . The design of the control has been verified. The locomotive was equipped with a lever brake and a handbrake, the boiler was fed by two non-suction injectors from Körting .
