Marc André (born 1967 ) is a French game designer , best known for the game Splendor he developed .

According to his own account, Marc André played chess as a child and teenager , which he learned from his father, and later played pen and paper role-playing games and wargames . He worked as an economist in stock trading , but gave up and devoted himself to game development and his family. In 2011 his first game Bonbons was published by GameWorks SàRL, followed by the game Splendor by Space Cowboys in 2014 , which was nominated for Game of the Year in the same year and in 2015 won the Dutch Game Award . In the following years several additions for Splendor as well as several independent games such as Barony (2015), Sail Away (2016) and Majesty (2017) followed.
