Marc Lemaître

Marc Lemaître (* 1973 ) is a Luxembourg EU civil servant and has headed the Directorate General for Regional Policy and Urban Development since 2016 .

Marc Lemaître studied economics at the Free University of Brussels from 1991 to 1995 and then obtained a master's degree in European economics at the Collège d'Europe in Brussels .

Lemaître joined the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999. Until 2006 he held various positions in the Luxembourg representation to the EU. After brief internal work for the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry, he moved to the European Commission in 2007. From 2007 to 2010 he was head of cabinet in the regional policy commissioner, first under Paweł Samecki until 2009, then under Danuta Hübner . He then came to the budget and financial planning department in the same position. From 2011 to August 2016 he was Director of the Office for the Establishment and Processing of Individual Claims (PMO) before he took over the management of the General Directorate for Regional Policy and Urban Development in September 2016 as Walter Deffaa's successor .
