Marc Savoy (born October 1, 1940 in Eunice , Louisiana ) is an American Cajun accordion maker and musician.

Savoy was introduced to Cajun music as a child by his grandfather . The appearance of Cyprien and Alton Landreneau at a private party also made a great impression on him . He became an accordionist with the Balfa Brothers in the early 1960s, and at the same time began repairing and building Cajun accordions in his parents' apartment. In 1966 he finally opened the Savoy Music Center , where he built around 1,000 accordions over the years and organized concerts and small festivals.

In 1977 Savoy married Virginia-born guitarist and singer Ann Allen . With her he campaigned for the preservation and care of Cajun music and culture and founded the Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band in 1978 with the fiddle player Michael Doucet , which released several albums. Under his own name, but also with Dewey Balfa and DL Menard , he recorded several albums, especially for Arhoolie Records . In addition, he appears with his sons Joel and Wilson as the Savoy Famely Cajun Band and also recorded with the Blue Flame Stringband . In 1992 he was honored as a National Heritage Fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts .
