Marc Wiese
Marc Wiese (* 1966 in Dortmund ) is a German documentary filmmaker , television journalist and director . Marc Wiese, Grimme Prize recipient and winner of CPH: DOX 2020, is the director of CAMP 14, which was classified by the British Film Institute BFI as “one of the most important documentaries of our time”. Camp 14 has won more than 15 international awards and has been shown on NETFLIX, CANAL + and in more than 20 countries around the world. Wiese has been making documentaries for TV and cinema for over 25 years and has worked in many crisis areas around the world. He has received numerous international awards for his films, such as for "KANUN" and "Picture of the Napalm Girl".
Life
Wiese studied philosophy and journalism at the University of Dortmund . He did internships at taz in Bremen and the Westfälische Rundschau in Dortmund and, after graduating from university, did an internship at ZDF and ARD .
