Marcel Bossi (born January 14, 1960 in Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourg football player .

Career

society

Bossi played between 1977 and 1989 for FC Progrès Niederkorn , with whom he won two Luxembourg championships and was once a cup winner . From 1989 to 1992 he worked for Jeunesse Esch , but did not win a title there. He played a total of four games in the European Cup for both clubs , two games in the European Cup Winners' Cup and six games in the UEFA Cup . In 1992 he returned to FC Progrès, where he ended his active career in 1994.

National team

Bossi played his first game for the Luxembourg national team on September 10, 1980 in the 5-0 defeat in the World Cup qualifier against Yugoslavia . His last appearance was on October 27, 1993 in the World Cup qualifier against Hungary in Budapest , which ended in a 0-1 defeat for the Luxembourgers.

In total, he completed 63 international matches (51 for FC Progrès, 12 for Jeunesse), in which he did not score. He wore the captain's armband twice in the Luxembourg selection.
