Club career

The 177 centimeter tall left winger Galey played as a teenager for SC Universitaire de France in his hometown of Paris and then at CA Vitry in a suburb of the French capital. From there, he moved in 1927 to southern France for FC Sète , with whom he was one, despite the lack of a nationwide professional league of the best teams in the country and the entry into the national cup final in 1929 succeeded the but with 0: 2 against local rivals SO Montpellier lost . In the same year he decided to return to Paris, where he found a new employer in Racing Paris . With Racing he managed to qualify for the cup final in 1930 , with which he was allowed to contest the final for the second time in a row. Also in his second final he could not win a title, as he failed with the team by a 1: 3 defeat against his former comrades from FC Sète.

In 1932 Galey was one of the co-founders of the first division Division 1 with Racing Paris , which was introduced as a national professional league that year. In his first year in the new league, he took an undisputed regular place on the wing and with nine goals in 17 games was also able to achieve a remarkable hit rate for this position. In the following years he initially maintained his regular place and was on the field in all 26 games to be completed in 1933/34, after he had already missed only one of the then 18 games in the first season. With the beginning of the 1935/36 season, the situation changed suddenly and Galey was almost completely ousted from the team that year. Despite this fact, he was part of the French championship team through three games with Racing Paris and won his first national title. At the same time, it remained the only one, as the then 30-year-old decided against continuing his active career after the success and after 72 top division games with 22 goals. Nevertheless, he remained loyal to the club by serving in the administration of Racing for decades.

National team

Galey was 23 years old and was in the service of FC Sète when he made his debut in a 3-0 win over Hungary on February 24, 1929 in the shirt of the French national team. Exactly a month later, he scored his only goal in his national dress in his second international match and saw his team beat Portugal 2-0. An 8-1 defeat against Spain on April 14, 1929 was his third and last international match, which ended his international career after a few months.
