Marcel Schneider (Manager)

Marcel Schneider (born October 2, 1964 in Linthal GL ) is a Swiss manager .

Professional background

Before studying Schneider was football goalkeeper in FC Glarus and FC St. Gallen in the Swiss National League A .

Schneider completed his electrical engineering studies in 1991 at the HTL St. Gallen . He completed his postgraduate studies as industrial engineer STV at the Kaderschule St. Gallen and graduated in 1994.

After completing his studies, Schneider worked for four years as head of the service department at Bosch Telecom in Switzerland. In 1996 he became department head of Philips Business Communications in Switzerland and two years later managing director in Germany. In 2001, Schneider moved to the management of Dell Computer Germany and was responsible for business with major customers. From 2004 to 2008 Schneider was Managing Director of Sun Microsystems in Germany and Austria. In 2008 he became managing director of Microsoft in Germany and headed the large customer business. He then took on general manager responsibility for 24 countries in Central and Eastern Europe at Microsoft. In 2011 he was appointed CEO of Fujitsu Technology Solutions in Central Europe. In 2013 Schneider moved to CA Technologies and became Vice President for Central Europe. Schneider has been a privateer since 2014. On August 20, 2019, Schneider and his wife published the novel "Herzmalerei" at Bucher Verlag.

Private life

Schneider was born in Switzerland and has lived in Germany since 1998. He is married to the German presenter Sylvia Bommes and has a son.
